EPK blurb:
Hellbearer are a thrash metal band from the musical melting pot of Manchester. Established in 2022, after a chance meeting of members at Bloodstock's Metal 2 The Masses competition, Hellbearer quickly wrote and released their debut album - "For Those About To Bear Hell". Hellbearer channel the frustrations of a close-minded society, while balancing the tone with occasional levity with their surrealist sense of humour and energetic rhythms.
Hellbearer have proved to be an explosive and captivating show. From their blistering opening set for Thrashchester 2023 to a triumphant and raucous set at Bloodstock Open Air 2024 (where they broke the new blood stage crowd-surf record) - which resulted in Hellbearer being invited to open the second stage of Bloodstock's indoor winter gathering festival!
Now with a follow up album "Darker Fates" on the way (October 2025), Hellbearer have concocted a sonic barrage of dark thrash, mixed and mastered in-house by vocalist/guitarist Ash Allen.
"Darker Fates" is a look into potential futures, and the dangers that come with them, framed through the lens of a tarot card reading by "The witch". Each track on this album represents a degree of dystopia, the titular track "A Darker Fate" tells the story of a young man who succumbs to a life of crime and excess - despite it affording him an escape from a life of poverty and struggle. Other tracks on the album touch on topics of warfare, political ignorance and more. The album marks a step up in musicianship and production quality for Hellbearer, with more focused songwriting and almost an hour of new music.
The band's thrash influences of Exodus, Testament and Slayer once again stand front and center as heard on their debut album, but now with a welcome layer of "Machine Head-esque" groove riffs and guitar interludes.
In support of this new album, Hellbearer have supported overseas touring acts such as the legendary 3 inches of blood, Venom's Abbadon and swiss thrashers Xonor.
