SYNTHPOP / ELECTRONIC DUO — KEYS / SYNTH PROGRAMMER WANTED
Staffordshire | Remote or in person
I’m looking for the right person to form a new original synthpop / electronic duo.
The musical direction is heavily inspired by HURTS, Depeche Mode, The Black Queen and Blaqk Audio — dark, melodic, atmospheric and electronic, with a strong emphasis on authentic synth sounds, programming and production.
I’ll be taking care of the vocals. I’ve got years of experience touring as a vocalist across various projects, and I’m also very proficient with Logic Pro, production, programming and recording.
What I’m looking for is someone who can really take ownership of the keys, synth programming and sound design side of the project.
This isn't really a conventional "keyboard player wanted" situation. I'm looking for someone who genuinely understands electronic music production and can program the sounds that make this genre work.
Ideally you will:
Be highly proficient with synth programming and sound design
Have a deep understanding of synthpop / dark electronic music
Be comfortable creating convincing analogue and digital synth sounds
Know how to build and program pads, basses, leads, sequences, arpeggios and textures
Be highly proficient in Logic Pro
Understand MIDI, automation, layering, effects and arrangement
Have experience with Arturia / V Collection — I use the Arturia instruments extensively
Have a strong ear for getting the right sound rather than simply using presets
Be able to contribute creatively to songwriting, arrangement and production
Ultimately be interested in creating something original and properly developed
I’m not looking for someone based on age or background. If you’re the right musician, that’s what matters.
I want someone who hears a Depeche Mode or HURTS track and is interested in why the synth sounds the way it does — the patch, filter, envelope, modulation, chorus, delay, sequencing etc.
The goal is to create something that feels authentic, dark, melodic and beautifully produced, rather than generic modern synthwave.
There is potential for this to become a serious project with writing, recording and eventually live work. I want the art visuals and direction to be just as important and I have a real direction for this.
I’m based in Staffordshire, but I’m completely open to working remotely, so location isn't necessarily a barrier. Equally, if you're within reasonable travelling distance and want to work in person, that's ideal too.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, send me some music, productions, demos, videos, links or anything that shows what you can do.
I’m much more interested in hearing your work than reading a musical cv.
Looking for the right person, not just another musician.
Look forward to hearing from you!
