Hey folks
We are two guys looking to complete our band line-up with another couple of wonderful humans! We've been practicing together for a few months and have 10+ songs ready-to-go as a duo:
Ben: a singer, guitarist, songwriter (can also play bass, keyboard and ukulele)
Isaac: great on drums or bass (and equally happy on either) and backing vocals
We are looking for:
- someone to play either bass or drums (as obviously Isaac can't play them both at the same time)
- ideally an additional guitarist.
Being able to sing (clean or screaming) would be massive plus too - whether as co-lead or backing vocals/harmonies.
It's always hard to describe your own music, so the best way to get a feel is just to listen to some demos of the songs: https://on.soundcloud.com/x86DF
(final band name still TBC).
But if you'd like some additional text-based info, musically we have influences from all over the place, from Dashboard Confessional to Iron Maiden and Queen, but it's within the Pop-Punk, Post-hardcore and Emo realm that the songs and desired band style fits. Some favourites include: Yellowcard, Bayside, Breaking Benjamin, Saves The Day, Silverstein, Funeral for a Friend, Blink, Jimmy Eat World, Senses Fail, Set Your Goals, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, Fightstar, Alkaline Trio, Further Seems Forever, Samiam etc. etc.
We really enjoy creating and playing music with people we enjoy hanging out with, so finding reliable bandmates who are both good people as well as musicians is really important We're both in our 30s and have day jobs, and whilst we would love to do something with this, we're not expecting anyone to quit their day job after the first band practice!
Ben is tee-total these days (boring medical reasons), but not expecting everyone else to be so (the majority of his friends drink!), but being around drugs makes him uncomfortable, and is a hard limit. We're in SW London and West London respectively, and have been practicing in Brentford. We're not exclusively wedded to this specific venue (although it is great), but we don't really want to be travelling too far north or east (knowing that rehearsal space in central London is, unfortunately, a thing of the past).
So yes, if you play drums, bass or guitar and want to be a part of something fun with pop-punk/post-hardcore vibes and like the sound of the demos, then hit us up!
