I’m looking to put together a proper Norfolk-based country band with a big sound, a little grit and plenty of attitude.
A bit about me:
I play rhythm guitar and sing. I’ve been playing in bands since the 1990s, have played in numerous bands over the years and have gigged extensively across London and Essex.
I’m now looking to put together a new band here in Norfolk with musicians who are into the same kind of music and want to rehearse, gig and build something properly.
The sound:
Hank Williams Jr.
Waylon Jennings
David Allan Coe
George Jones
Gram Parsons
Merle Haggard
Johnny Cash
Plus Southern rock, honky-tonk and proper 70s-style outlaw country.
Looking for:
• Lead guitarist
• Drummer
• Bass player
• Keys / pedal steel — a big bonus
• Strong backing vocals also very welcome
The aim is to build a proper working band — regular rehearsals, put together a strong live set and get out playing gigs around Norfolk, East Anglia and beyond.
I’m particularly interested in musicians who love that gritty 70s outlaw-country, honky-tonk and Southern-rock sound rather than polished modern country.
Experience is welcome, but more importantly I’m looking for people who are reliable, committed and genuinely love this kind of music.
Norfolk-based.
Covers to start with, with plenty of potential for originals once the band is established.
All ages and experience levels welcome.
Serious about building something and getting out there playing, but no rock-star egos.
If you’re interested, send me a message with what you play, where in Norfolk you’re based and a little about yourself.
Let’s get a proper outlaw country band together and make some noise.
