Hello,
I have an idea of a very ambitious project but feel it is very do-able with the right team of versatile musicians that want to play music of all/any genre. I’d almost describe it as starting a company/buiness.
I’m a 40 year old bass player that can play rhythm guitar. I’ve been gigging for 10+ years and have a huge repertoire. I have all my own gear and transport etc. I currently play in a few bands that gig 1-3 times a month but would like to gig more and earn more money doing it while have a great time.
My plan is to find a singing guitarist and a drummer that has time. Would suit people who are maybe freelance and don’t have to many commitments. Get together 3-4 times a week (maybe more) and build a set list of various wedding tracks, pubs songs etc ready to gig. Once we have something built get some recordings, photos and videos so we can build a basic website and get ourselves onto some agency books.
Hopefully this will get us going and earning a little money. Next plan is to expand. Once the ‘core band’ is done we can then start building side projects such as a tribute band, acoustic performance and maybe even writing original material, which could include other musicians.
The overall idea is to earn money playing weddings, party’s and pubs but be able to do festivals in the summer. This maybe a tribute, folk, rock festival or playing original music. Maybe even some busking. This will then allow us to do some mini tours playing at the various events.
We would build a great connection as a trio so I’m hoping I can connect with some likeminded musicians who are keen to travel around but are hard working.
As you can tell I haven’t made too Ed any band names or specific genres that’s because I’m love so many genres. I would say I am a hard rock, nu-metal fan but I also love reggae, jazz, folk, country, hip-hop ska, punk, punk rock. The list goes on.
Well as I said ambitious lol. I have the motivation to get things moving all I need is a team who is keen.
