Hi everyone!
My name is Lee, I'm 41 and from Basildon, Essex.
I'm a male vocalist looking to meet like-minded people who share a love of music. I used to sing and perform at holiday parks in my early 20s, and although it's been quite a few years since I've sung, I'd love to get back into it.
My musical taste is quite varied. I enjoy pop, soft rock, folk-pop, ballads, upbeat songs and anything with great melodies and vocal harmonies. I'm a big fan of The Mamas & The Papas and absolutely love their music, particularly the way their voices blend together. I'd love to explore that sort of sound alongside other classic and modern songs. I'm open to different styles and seeing what works for everyone.
It would be great to put together a full live band, ideally with vocalists of all genders and vocal ranges, a drummer, bass guitarist, one or two guitarists and a keyboard player. These are just initial ideas, though, and who knows what we could end up creating!
I'd ideally like the lead vocals to be shared rather than having one main singer. Of course, this would depend on the songs and everyone's vocal strengths, but I'd love for everyone to have an equal opportunity to sing and be part of it.
It would also be great to hear from anyone who has experience in songwriting or composing music. I'd love for us to eventually explore writing and creating our own songs together, as well as performing covers.
The idea is to start by getting together for some relaxed rehearsals and jam sessions, getting to know each other and seeing how we sound together. We'd also need to find somewhere suitable to rehearse, so if anyone knows of a good rehearsal space or has any suggestions, that would be great too!
If things go well and everyone enjoys it, we could start building a setlist, performing live and hopefully working towards regular gigs, travelling and even touring one day.
One thing that's important to me is that everyone would be an equal member of the group, with a say in the music, arrangements and direction we take. I'd like it to be something we build together.
There's no set age range, and everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a professional musician either. Enthusiasm, commitment, a good sense of humour and a genuine love of music are far more important than age or experience.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please get in touch!
Let's get together, make some music and see where it takes us!
