North Yorkshire | Regular gigs | Big riffs | Amps set to 11
Lunar Rebellion are looking for a new lead guitarist to complete our five-piece covers band.
We’re an established, busy band playing pubs, bars, festivals and private events across Scarborough, Pickering, York, Whitby and beyond. We already have gigs in the diary, so we’re hoping to find the right person and get them stage-ready fairly quickly.
=== WHAT WE PLAY ===
Classic rock, pop-punk and alternative, including:
AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Whitesnake, Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, The Killers, Linkin Park, Wolf Alice and The Pretty Reckless.
We also throw in the occasional curveball, from Tina Turner to MGMT.
Basically, if it has a big chorus, a filthy riff or an opportunity for someone to stand on a monitor, we’re interested.
=== WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR ===
You’ll ideally be:
• A confident lead guitarist. This is proper solo territory: Sweet Child o’ Mine, Crazy Train, Slither and Rock You Like a Hurricane are all in the set.
• An experienced live player who is comfortable holding a full gig together on stage.
• Equipped with your own transport and reliable, gig-ready gear.
• Genuinely enthusiastic about the music. If that setlist made you grin, that’s a very good start.
• Available on Monday evenings for rehearsals in Kirkbymoorside, usually every other week.
• Able to learn the existing set at a reasonable pace. A typical gig is two sets and roughly 28 songs. We don’t expect perfection at the first rehearsal, but we do need someone willing and able to get up to speed quickly.
A strong rhythm guitarist ready to step into a lead role may also be considered, provided you’re comfortable taking on the solos.

• An active band, formed in 2024, with an established set and regular bookings.
• Four friendly, committed musicians: lead vocals, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals and drums.
• Gigs at some brilliant venues across North Yorkshire.
• A band that takes the performances seriously without taking itself too seriously.
