Cariwubia is a collaborative group of musicians and songwriters who's passionate about music and invention based in and near Bournemouth. Our music has punchy elements of punk with melodic textures of post punk (new wave) and other alternative genres like trip hop and lo fi Incorporating with the grooves and rhythms of North and West Africa, central and east Asia, Arabian Peninsula and Mediterranean. We are including genres of music such as jazz, funk, folk and latino etc with a punchy twist. Other influences and cultures are more than welcome to enhance and enrich our music. If you have some capability, flexibility and freedom of true and long forgotten jazz in the UK.
We already have songs written and and one being recorded. Female singer, bassist, two multi instrumentalists, drummer and percussionist awaiting for the missing piece which are as stated. Versatile guitarist with influences of West Africa, North Africa, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Arabian Peninsula. We are looking for a guitarist who is rhythmically competent and enjoys being experimental.
Our music is punchy and heavily driven by drums and bass as the key foundation of the music which in my opinion should be. As stated above we are looking for someone who is competent as in working out the keys to our songs by ear alone. Knowing the true value of space and simplicity, rhythm and groove within music.
