Strawgirl is looking for a guitarist! We are an alt rock/grunge band based in south east London.
We are:
Edie – lead vocals, now also bass and bit of keys
Karina – drums, backing vocals
Formerly a five-piece, we collectively decided that things are moving in a different direction and are changing our line-up. We plan to continue as a three-piece for the time being.
We are currently writing and developing our first album which we plan to record in 2026, and intend to gig again later this year. Some influences for the new music include: Warpaint, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blondshell, Lana Del Rey, Softcult, Just Mustard, Brian Jonestown Massacre... (think witchy psychedelic break-up music)
What we're looking for:
- We're both in our 30s, so ideally someone who is in a similar place in life to us as we are both keen to do big things with the band! (and someone nice who will fit in as we have become good friends through the band, and with the former members)
- Someone who can commit to regular fortnightly rehearsals in Deptford.
- We’d love to find someone who is keen to do backing vocals, although this isn't compulsory!
