Guitarist in London looking for a collaborator (singer) to write and play music with.
A bit about me: I spent several years in an indie rock band called Emma and the Fragments, and I've played with singers including Jewelia, Elta Wave, Ofir Sandler, Sheerwood and Fox Palmer, as well as being part of a lot of recording sessions with some of those artists.
Right now I'm playing with two very good friends of mine, a drummer and a bass player. We jammed recently on one of my songs, it felt genuinely good, and we want to keep going.
What I'm looking for is a collaborator. A singer, a rhythm guitarsit, a keyboard player — what you play matters less than the fact that we'd be writing together rather than filling a slot. I write a lot of the material, but I'd much rather build songs with someone than hand over finished ones. If you're a singer, melodies and lyrics are yours to shape from the start. Bring your own half-ideas too and we'll work them up properly.
The aim is to have fun and make music we find fresh and exciting. That's genuinely it. No five-year plan, no label ambitions, no illusions about any of that.
My listening is all over the place, and so is everyone else's here: grunge, nu metal, classic rock, indie rock, folk, and one of us is properly deep into death metal. The common thread is songwriting. If a song is well written I'll happily sit through it whatever it's dressed up as, and that's the kind of ear I'm hoping to find.
How I'd like to start: a phone or video call, just to talk about music and see whether we get on. That matters more to me than anything else. There has to be a level of experience, obviously, but I'd take a kind, easy person who plays well over a brilliant player who's hard work, every single time.
Drop me a message with a bit about yourself and anything I can hear you on. Would love to have a chat before moving with anything.
