Hey there,
I'm a singer/songwriter that's started up a new project not to long ago, Charlie Mutts & The Distillery. It's something that's been on the cards for a while, and thought now's a good time now I'm in my very late 20's to really push for music.
I have a wonderful drummer who I've played with in previous bands for many years, a world class drummer in my opinion. It's a huge honour to have him along for the ride. I also have an incredible bass player who I'm so happy to have on board. We've been playing together and thought we'd go as the mighty 'power trio'.
As much as it works for some songs, quite a few would benefit as a guitar player to take the lead role. I play guitar myself, but I'm not the most confident with the electric guitar unfortunately. Someone to take charge would be a great asset to me and the band. Letting me focus more on vocals.
I've been known to play "country music", which is mostly true, but with an old school rock, blues and western twist to it. If I have to share my inspirations for this, that'll be Tom Petty, Eddie Money, Bob Seger all the way up to Molly Hatchet and Boston on the rock side of things. For country, probably Brad Paisley, Keith Urban up to Jake Owen and Kip Moore. Quite the variety really.
I wouldn't want this to be a pub act, I'm looking to push for venues, to make a show out of this whole thing. Pretty serious stuff. I would like someone capable, committed, and up for the challenge on this journey. But of course, have a great time and have a laugh while we're at it too.
We have a setlist of material that's already been written down as a few are from an EP I want to record in the near future, a few are from old songs I've had laying around for years and some from an album I've finished writting a couple of years ago.
This may sound intimidating, but I don't expect note for note perfect. I have new ideas and I want to be able to write songs with the band, to create something new in the near future. I want the drummer, bassist and whoever plays guitar to be able to have a stamp in this.
If this is something you fancy having a go at? Do get in touch and we'll ask you to come down to have a jam with us sometime soon.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I can't wait to hear from you and see what tones you're bringing to the table.
I'm not a confident guitar player, but love geeking out on the stuff.
Thank you,
Charlie
