J-Starbuck-88
(Hinckley)
Thursday 15 Oct 2026, 8:57pm
LOCATION / BASE:
Midlands (Rehearsals based around Hinckley / Leicestershire area)
THE CONCEPT:
Forming a dedicated, high-impact classic rock tribute celebrating the career and legacy of Paul Rodgers.
Rather than sticking to just one group, this show brings together the ultimate UK crowd-pleasing setlist spanning Free, Bad Company, The Firm, and the heavy stadium arrangements of Queen + Paul Rodgers (think Merchants of Cool / Glasgow 2006 live vibe).
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Lead Guitarist: Needs a deep feel for classic blues-rock vibrato, heavy riffs, and soul, handling the spirit of Kossoff, Ralphs, Page, and May. Bass Player: Heavy, driving pocket player who can lock in tight and let the songs breathe (in the vein of Andy Fraser / Boz Burrell).
Drummer: Solid, hard-hitting, classic rock groove master with great dynamics (Simon Kirke / Roger Taylor feel).
(Optional / Open to) Keys / Backing Vocals: To add warmth, organ, and vocal harmonies to the bigger anthems.
TUNING & TONE:
To deliver that thick, heavy, live-album weight (and protect vocal longevity over a 2-hour set), the entire show will be run in D Standard / Eb Tuning. TIMELINE & COMMITMENT:
This is a deliberate build for a 2027 startup. No rush, no stress—the goal right now is to find the right chemistry and like-minded players first. Once the core lineup is locked in, we'll hit the rehearsal room, nail the 20-song set, get high-quality promotional media shot, and hit the venue/festival circuit properly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Pro attitude, reliable gear, and own transport.
Passion for 70s blues-rock, heavy grooves, and authentic stage energy.
Willingness to rehearse regularly in the Leicestershire/Midlands area. INTERESTED?
If you fancy locking into some proper classic rock grooves without the usual tribute fatigue, drop me a message with a bit about yourself, your gear/experience, and any audio/video clips you have. Let’s get a drink and discuss the plan!
