Feelers out here for anybody that fancies playing the music of 'Blackmore's Night'
There's 25 years of magical video and audio online if you've never heard of them.
If you have, you'll know that they regularly plunder the songs from other bands and Singers such as Renaissance, Uriah Heep, Joan Baez as well as Rainbow and old English folk songs which get rocked up a bit. So plenty to sing along to as a sort of medieval covers band.
I'm 70, so looking for older musos that are still breathing, retired and preferably around during the day.
I play keys and acoustic guitar.
So I'm looking for a good Female lead vocalist in the first instance, to arrange the songs with and a good acoustic guitarist who can add the nice twiddly bits that really help make a song. Then maybe add Bass, Violin, Flute, Cajon/Congas/Small drum kit. Later on maybe backing vocals for full gigs.
But happy to keep it small most of the time.
The music is fairly easy so you don't have to be the best out there. Just a good feeling for the music I can add all the ethereal intros etc on keys.
Hopefully a few small cosy pub gigs next year and Village fair gatherings, nothing too big and noisy.
Not looking to be a tribute band so more like our versions of these songs.
All for fun and any excuse to dress up like on old Pirate again...argh!
I've done this in the past so lots of songs sorted and ready to tweak and play.
Great to play from a duo in the corner of a pub to a six piece at a summer fete.
I'm currently living in Norton Fitzwarren but hopefully moving to Watchet early next year. So preferably Quantocks to Minehead sort of area.
Drop me a message if interested.
Thanks.
Martin.
