BE CIVIL — BASSIST / CO-FRONTWOMAN WANTED
Be Ciivil are a London-based alt-rock/post-punk band looking for a female bassist/vocalist to join us as we enter our next stage.
We've been going for nearly two years, with one EP released and our second EP recorded and ready to release/promote in the new year. We're looking to get back to gigging quickly and build some serious momentum going into next year.
We've already had the chance to:
Support C Turtle, Heavy Wild and Treeboy & Arc
Played shows with respected promoters including Bad Vibrations and Shout/Scream
Played the legendary The Windmill to name a few.
We’ve built a strong foundation and reputation within London's independent music scene and we are generating industry interest from labels such as Subcat (Swim Deep's label)
We're looking for someone who can take real ownership of the role — not just play bass, but become a genuine creative force within the band.
You'll be co-fronting alongside our singer/guitarist/songwriter, with plenty of room to bring your own songs, ideas and vocal style into the band. We're particularly interested in someone who wants to help shape where the band goes next rather than simply filling a spot.
Influences include: Sonic Youth, Pixies, Joy Division and plenty more. Think noisy guitars, strong melodies, post-punk weirdness. Pixies, especially if they let Kim sing more.
Must have’s:
Comfortable singing/co-fronting
Bass pedals — we want someone who enjoys getting weird with their sound
Our immediate aim is to get back to gigging before the end of the year, then hit the ground running in the new year with the EP campaign, more shows and festivals next summer.
We're looking for the right person to come in, make the role their own and help us take Be Ciivil somewhere bigger.
MUST be London-based and ready to properly get stuck in.
If this sounds like your thing, reply here or drop us a DM at @be_civil_band with a bit about yourself, your influences and some music/videos of you playing.
