The Fiery Lights are looking for a new, permanent bass player for rehearsals, live shows and recording.
Backing vocals a bonus but not essential.
We're an originals band, formed just over 2 years ago and have played shows locally at venues like the Tunbridge Wells Forum, The Grey Lady and the Local and Live festival in Calverley Grounds, building a solid following. Debut album was released last year and 3 singles have followed this year so far.
Our sound is probably best described as alt-rock, but we use some electronic sounds / synth / samples, occasional folk instruments and anything else that interests us to add to the core sound and make things a bit more interesting. We're a 4 piece (or will be once we find a bassist). Influences are too numerous to mention, but generally it's bands with energy, strong melodies and interesting lyrics.
Please check out our music using the link below before replying - we're keen to get someone involved who's into what we're doing and thinks they can add some low end creativity. We're looking for someone who can hold a groove, who understands what a song needs - ie when to keep it simple and when to add something more interesting.

Personality / attitude super-important. We have a lot of fun taking what we do seriously, if that makes sense. We love writing, recording, playing live and generally being involved with making music. We're a friendly bunch, no major egos, and rehearsals are always good fun.
Age - anywhere from 35 to 50ish.
Gender - not important. Band currently has male and female members.
Location - preferably reasonably local to T Wells, or if not, must be willing to travel here for weekly rehearsals. We usually rehearse Wednesday evenings and have our own rehearsal space that we use with a PA etc. No cost for rehearsals, but contributing to filling up the fridge with drinks is appreciated
Recording, live shows and occasional extra rehearsals as and when. We play a show every 8 - 10 weeks so we can pull a good size crowd and make them as good as possible. That may change but quality rather than quantity has been our approach so far.
If you're interested, contact Ian for more info. Could be the start of something fantastic.
Thanks.
