hey, i’m a drummer in south east london looking to put a new project together (or connect with songwriters/musicians wanting to build one). I'm early 30's so hoping to find people between mid 20s to mid 30s and ideally a good gender balance too.
what i’m into: vocal-forward stuff with proper melodies, but heavily driven by mood, space, and rhythm. aiming for that world between the hypnotic, groove-led interplay of bands like warpaint and the cinematic space of late-era radiohead (i loved a moon shaped pool). i prefer playing with dynamics, negative space, and syncopated beats that lock in with groovy bass.
i think it’s so important to create an identity and sound that’s cohesive and that people can know you for. whether you’ve already got songs formed or want to start writing from scratch in a rehearsal room, i’m after people who want to rehearse, gig, get in the studio, and who care about the stuff around the music too: marketing, visuals, aesthetic, and ideas beyond just jamming. music’s the core, but being in a band is a lot more than that and i’m into all of it.
about me: i’ve done studio work with a band on an indie label in aus, and played live including some small tours. happy to send demos from previous bands so you can hear my playing/feel.
influences / sound palette: warpaint, radiohead (especially a moon shaped pool / in rainbows), the smile, portishead, broadcast, beak>, milan w, massive attack, caroline, grizzly bear, mogwai, talk talk. also love modern shoegaze, trip hop, and textured art-rock. basically bands that own their space, in how they sound and how they look.
not really for me: classic rock, metal, 70s/80s etc - i'm more excited by atmospheric, newer sounds.
if that sounds like your thing, message me and send over what you’re working on or what you're listening to - I'd love to chat. send me your insta if you have one too!
