We are an established Americana-rock band with a fresh line-up and sound, about to sign with a label (distribution), looking for a 6th member.
We feature twin lead female vocals and want to do for outlaw country what First Aid Kit has done for folk (or Wet Leg for indie rock).
We hail from all over—southern US to NZ—but are based in London (we rehearse here, but members live over southeast UK).
We’re currently on the first rung of the festival circuit and have recorded two albums. Following a bit of a reinvention we are working on the first EP with the new line-up. We’re aiming high for festival season ’23 (think The Long Road, Black Deer).
We embrace the eclectic nature of Americana; we’ve been dubbed folk-rock, alt-country, indie-folk… we put a lot of thought into song-writing and are influenced by the likes of Lucinda Williams, Midlake, Nikki Lane, The Eagles, Sharon van Etton, Fleetwood Mac, Wilco, Gillian Welch, Arcade Fire, The Hold Steady—to name a few.
Our instrumentation varies but typically includes guitar (x1 or 2), keyboards (x1 or 2 [organ, piano, Rhodes]), bass, drums, aux percussion—historically, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and the occasional harmonica or lap steel have also played a role.
You are a serious and versatile guitarist comfortable with taking the lead or rhythm, writing their own parts and experience playing in an ensemble. Ideal if also happy to play some keys, and/or sing a third vocal line. Proficiency in other genre-appropriate instruments would be a further advantage (several of us are multi-instrumentalists and we try to make the most of this!).
Awareness of the UK/EU market for this music is a bonus.
All members have a seat at the song-writing table!
*We are not a guitar solo-based band and we put the ensemble above egos.*
Earnings are shared (and/or fed into the pot for studio time)—we run the band ourselves for now, but looking at options for ’23 and beyond.
