Hello to all seasoned music-makers.
I’m a composer, arranger, choir conductor, organist, piano and organ accompanist, multi?instrumentalist, enthusiastic bass guitarist and a provider of backing vocals (with some lead vocals when needed), living in Esher, Surrey. Having wandered past 70 with a grin, I’m reaching out to others around 65+ who feel and know that music is a faithful companion in life.
I’m looking for fellow mature musicians who enjoy both the noble and the naughty sides of music:
• Classical collaborations with singers or instrumentalists (violin, cello, flute, clarinet, voice etc.) – duo enjoyment, chamber music, lied, small ensembles, or anything requiring a composer, arranger or piano or organ accompanist
• A swinging group or band playing GLAD old?time gems: rockabilly, rock ’n’ roll, boogie?woogie, swing, melodic pop, Americana, country, blues
• Creative projects where music needs to be composed and written, arranged, transposed, deciphered or gently tamed
• Or simply the joy of making music together without any grand plan
I am fluent in reading and writing any music material from complex orchestral sheet music scores to simple chord charts, lyrics with chord symbols and so on.
Should we want to use it, I have a practice room here in Esher – not grand, not tiny, simply a good place to make music – with bass and other guitars, keyboards and creative space for musical exploration.
No pressure. Just a sincere interest in seeing what we might create together as fellow musicians.
And to be clear: This invitation is not only for professionals or near?professionals. If you’re an enthusiastic amateur, someone who once played or sang and would love to revive the habit, or if you simply want to improve your skills in a friendly, encouraging environment, you are warmly welcome. Music is for everyone who feels its pull.
If this resonates with you, or with someone you know, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
What could we create together, dear friends?
Warm greetings
Tapio (Esher)
