2 high-energy guitarists wanted for a pop punk / nu metal production. Something different!
We’re a singer, a drummer and a bassist, all gigging regularly in busy, working bands. Honestly? We’re bored. Same songs, same format, same routine. We want something exciting that we actually want to put our energy into. Something we’d happily step back from our current projects for. Something that turns a gig into a show.
The concept: Pop punk and nu metal with a twist. Think big riffs and big hooks, then out of nowhere a Spice Girls medley, a boy band banger or some cheesy pop classic, all ripped apart and rebuilt with a pop punk / nu metal edge. Short medleys, ad libs and unexpected mash-ups that make people stop and stare.
The vision: A proper production. Stage presence, lighting, big moments, real showmanship. We want people filming it on their phones and talking about it the next day. We’re aiming at festivals, events, venues, and the bigger, quirkier pubs that want something with a bit of spectacle.
The plan:
Get the line-up together and get the set locked in tight
Get into the studio and record a professional showreel
Use it to market ourselves and land the big shows
Who we need:
???? 2 guitarists who can play tight and heavy but also perform. You move, you headbang, you own your side of the stage. Rhythm and lead, or two players who can share both.
???? Possibly a keys player who’s a showman, not someone hiding behind a stand, to make us a 6-piece. Synths, samples and pop hooks a big plus.
You’ll be:
A strong, reliable player with gigging experience
Excited by performance as much as playing
Comfortable switching between genres at a moment’s notice
Up for rehearsing properly to get the show tight
Not precious. If someone suggests a Steps song in drop D, your answer is “yes”
Own gear and transport
Practical stuff:
Based in Greater Manchester (Manchester City Centre, Astley, Atherton) rehearsing currently in Bolton, weekly.
[Age is not really a concern, we are currently aged between 35 and 45 so rather have right energy and ability]
Already in a band? No problem, so are we. But we want this to become our main focus, so we’re after people who feel the same itch and want to commit to making it happen.
If this sounds like a bit of you, get in touch! Send a bit about yourself, the bands you’re into, and links to videos of you playing, ideally live so we can see your stage presence.
Let’s build something people don’t forget. ????
