I am not looking for a cover band guitarist, nor blues.
After another frustrating night trying to set up my interface to my laptop with an unbelievable amount of difficulty I realise it may be time to try and outsource help. I write songs, I sing them, then I go on to my laptop and try my hardest to craft the sound I hear through layered harmonies, rhythm guitar, keys, bits of solo guitar and a splash of violin here and there.
It usually ends up sounding weird, not quite there, but on the right track. So far I've been trying to learn how to record it independently with a basic set up. I have received lots of encouragement and help through band members and have come so far...but If I'm ever going to get these songs recorded I may need a hand. I encounter a road block at every turn and am looking for someone that is either willing to teach me or help me with setup/hardware/software (which is where all my problems arise) I'll pay - what I can afford, or I can shadow somebody that may want experience recording a female musician.
In an ideal world I'd love to just do it myself, in my own environment where I can experiment in peace for hours on end. I am in three original bands already around the Coventry area, In those I play a mixture of rhythm guitar in a grunge/noisy/droney set up, keys and harmonies in a 7 piece, and sing lead in a shoegaze band.
Its hard to say what I do like but for example this week I've been listening to Hildegard von Bingen, scott walker and boards of canada, last week I listened to early moody Clannad.
Open to collaboration, if it could work.
