Seen a few of my posts about GigXchange on here — thought it was worth doing a proper rundown of what the platform actually does, for anyone who's curious.
GigXchange is the UK's peer-to-peer live music marketplace. Artists, venues, agents and promoters on one platform, booking each other directly. No gatekeepers, no "you need to be repped", no 20% commissions.
Here's what you can do as an artist:
- Get found. Build a profile in ~5 minutes — tracks, video, gig calendar, genre tags, location. Venues and promoters search that profile when they're hunting for acts.
- Pitch direct. Browse open dates posted by venues and promoters. Filter by area, budget, genre. Apply with one click.
- Run your own nights. Event builder with ticketing, QR door scanning and attendance tracking. Sell tickets, bank the profit.
- Market yourself. Promo cards, tour posters, setlist builders, fan mailing lists, in-app tipping — your own marketing stack.
- Get paid properly. Every booking generates a contract. Deposits sit in Stripe escrow upfront and release when the gig's done. Invoice generator for anything booked off-platform.
- Build reputation. Verified reviews from the people who actually booked you, not anonymous strangers.
121 musicians, venues, agents and promoters have joined in the first 4 weeks. Free to sign up, and the first 250 members keep free access forever — 129 spots left.
I've been building this solo to give the UK music scene the tools it deserves. It's still rough in places but coming together fast, and your feedback will genuinely shape what ships next.
Have a look, happy to answer anything in the thread: https://gigxchange.app
