Hi there,
Looking to set up a new band, we currently consist of a lead guitar (myself) and a drummer and potentially a bass player, we would be looking for a female singer/ front person. We are all in our 30's but your singer ability is more important than age. Ideally we would like someone that has a good vocal range, that has stage presence don't worry if you don't have "stage chat" we just want to play the songs! no gaps, as long as you can sell the songs when you sing them.
The band will be a covers band but we DO NOT want to be stuck into any one genre or era. The way that we see the band is that there would be lots of different mini set lists, first your standards that ever band has to play but really doesn't want to (any band that says they don't want to do these won't get many gigs), songs from each era all the way up to modern we don't want to be one of those bands that says they play songs from 60's to now but stops at about 1988. Then different genres Power Ballads, pop, rock, indie, punk, new romantic, cheese, house, techno, drum and bass absolutely anything as long as they are reasonably well know and absolute bangers. so with that being said it would be good if you already have a wide music taste and are open minded with song choices.
As this is a new band you would be starting with us at the ground floor and would have an equal say in the songs that we learn that would build the set lists up and we wouldn't consider a song unless we all agreed we liked it and wanted to play it.
Myself and the drummer have been in bands before and have professional gear and a professional work ethic when it comes to rehearsing and gigging however we do like to have fun are very relaxed. The plan would be to rehearse to properly build a robust and varied set and then gig in pubs/ clubs to work out best songs and tighten up the sets and then hopefully move on to bigger venues/ little festivals/ weddings. We both have jobs so would be looking to gig about 2x a month ish and rehearsal initial once a week in the evening, somewhere central to all of us with a view to less rehearsals as we get more established.
If this sound like something you would be interested in getting involved in drop me a message, if you are able to send across any recordings that would be really useful as well.
Hope to hear from you soon
Olly
