Our band is looking for a new lead guitarist following the sudden departure of our current lead guitarist who says he has been kidnapped by pirates. We love him but have a band policy of not paying ransom money.
We are looking for a competent and confident player of any age, gender, with your own gear, transport etc., who is genuinely into rehearsing and live performance and is willing to commit to regular rehearsals to help us maintain our reputation as a cut above the average pub cover band. We have a really good time playing live, and people have a really good time at our gigs, which is why we do it.
You would be joining a tight drums/bass/guitar set up that includes two vocalists. We play 'mainstream' indie covers and gig mostly at beer festivals. Our next gig is in October, and we are aiming to get back to gigging regularly (monthly or so) after that; we currently rehearse weekly although this may go down to fortnightly when we are gig-ready.
Our musical ethos is 'indie hits' from 1990s to now(ish). We currently cover songs by -
Muse, Stereophonics, Royal Blood, Foo Fighters, Blur, Oasis, Mansun, Reef, Kula Shaker, Jet, Feeder, Ash, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Hives, Kaiser Chiefs, Raconteurs, Green Day, Wheatus, Radiohead, Jet, Dandy Warhols, Ocean Colour Scene, Stone Roses etc.
If playing that kind of stuff floats your boat, we would really like to hear from you. Some vocal ability would be a bonus, but not essential. Shredding, while admirable, is definitely not required; we are looking for a musician who knows the song comes first. There will be plenty of opportunities to rock out. You will probably have done this before, so you'll have a good sense of the work that goes into being a really good band.
Please get in touch with us if interested, we are looking to audition in early July. Cheers
