Working musician here, with 17 years of experience in song writing, gigging and recording. I'm starting a super grassroots, no-nonsense, politically charged, anti-patriarchy, queer proud, zero tolerance for bullsh*t Punk band that isn't afraid to call it as we see it. Some people will hate us, more people will love us. Influences include Amyl And The Sniffers, Childbirth, Mommy Long Legs, X-Ray Spex and Bad Religion.
I'm looking for a drummer and 1-2 other members to cover guitar/bass and vocals. I myself am a rhythm guitarist, bassist and vocalist, but as you'll be able to hear from the demo I'll post below, my voice is probably a little too soft/clean to be the lead in this band. I'd be happy to fall back to doing backing vox if a more suitable singer comes along. I'm also open to playing either rhythm guitar or bass, so happy to figure that out depending on who else is a good fit for the band. Do we need both rhythm and lead guitar? I'm leaning toward maybe not, but if you're a kickass lead, then why not?
A note about sex/gender - I'm completely open to anybody (I'm non-binary myself), but I do feel that the lead vocalist should be female, since a lot of these songs are probably gonna be themed around gender inequality/patriarchal/harassment issues. But male musicians are also completely welcome in other roles.
Here's a link to the demo of a song that I wrote for the project (I currently have a few written, but only recorded this one to test the waters). I play literally everything on it except drums (programmed), and all vocals are also me (hence the phase in the double tracking... sorry!). You can check it out here:
