Are you a capable and enthusiastic vocalist looking for a casual musical escape? Do you have a passion for crowd-pleasing rock & pop and a desire to jam, play for fun, occasionally gig and generally enjoy having a laugh with some like-minded musicians?
Age Against The Machine (band name tbc!) is an impromptu amateur covers band formed by bunch of musical mates specially to play at a July 25 retirement gig. The band being made up of averagely experienced to semi-professional musical enthusiasts that play mostly for musical enjoyment and fun. And now the retirement gig has passed, we’ve had so much fun we’ve decided to keep calm and carry on! But our vocalist cannot continue and so we need a new singer!
Band is made up of a bunch of middle-aged working professionals, in a crew comprising lead and rhythm guitarists, bassist, drummer and keyboard player; all out to jam, occasionally gig, enjoy being in a casual band and playing fun music, having a good laugh and generally not taking band-life over seriously. But we are now a vocalist short.
Initial gig playlist has got 10 popular and well recognised pop/rock cover crowd-pleasers from Robbie Williams through Keane, Snow Patrol, Oasis and we want now to pull in Stereophonics, Bryon Adams, U2 and more. We typically get together and practice 2 – 3 times a month at a private (free) Farnham rehearsal room, Monday / Wednesday evenings mostly, although we can flex especially for pre-gig practice.
We are a pretty casual band, so you’ll be a good team player, with a relaxed attitude, good sense of humour and a willingness to take a few risks and try new things, happy to pick-up on where we have got to and help the band progress. You’ll have your own transportation and ability to commit to routine rehearsals and occasional gigs. And you'll like a beer!
So if you are a vocalist, probably middle-aged or thereabouts, likes to sing a bit of well-known rock and pop and be a part of a non-stressed casual and easy-going band out to enjoy good music, playing together and having fun, offering a social outlet and having a good laugh, get in touch. Come back to us with a brief introduction to yourself, a description of your musical experience and style and interests, a brief demo or video if you can show-casing your singing abilities and your contact information, including email and a phone number.
