Hey!
I’m looking for a vocalist to join me on a hardcore / beatdown / death metal project — with the main focus firmly on hardcore. Think crushing riffs, some beatdown energy, and occasionally a bit of melodic or atmospheric space just to keep things interesting. Think Kublai Khan/Desolated – style heaviness, but written by a guitarist who definitely went through a Cult of Luna/Russian Circle/Isis phase about 20 years ago (f*ck... I'm old).
I’ve already written and recorded enough material for an EP (or even an album), so the project is ready to move forward.
You can check out some of my stuff here: https://www.bandmix.co.uk/dopamine_sun/
These are just demo tracks, not fully fleshed-out songs yet but (hopefully) a good starting point.
If you have recording experience and the chance to record at home, that’s a huge plus.
Because of work and life commitments, I’m mainly approaching this as a studio / online project. That said, I’m happy to invest a bit of money into proper mixing and mastering, release an EP, and see where it goes from there.
I’m not completely ruling out rehearsals or live shows, but I’ve already played 100+ shows over the years, and right now the idea of weekly rehearsals plus weekend gigs just feels like a bit too much. I know hardcore is meant to be played live — but I’m in my 30s now and honestly… watching Game of Thrones on a Friday night sometimes beats any sweaty hardcore show.
Maybe there are a few other people in their 30s out there with jobs, responsibilities, and less time for the full touring grind — but who still want to make heavy music and put out something cool.
I’m based in SE London, and definitely happy to meet up, hang out, and talk music — just not looking to commit to the full rehearsal/gig cycle at the moment.
If that sounds like your thing, hit me up!
