Yoooo, what’s up!
My name’s Joe, I’m a 29-year-old vocalist originally from London, currently based in Lewes, just outside Brighton. I’m looking to either join an existing band or get together with some like-minded musicians to start a revival metalcore / metallic hardcore project.
I’m talking proper 2000s metalcore. The kind of sh*t that’s deeply rooted in hardcore punk, with plenty of melodic death metal influence. Crushing breakdowns, filthy two-step riffs, frantic drums, metallic chugs, melancholic melodies and raw aggression. Music that sounds genuinely pissed off but still has emotion and atmosphere behind it.
Think that golden era of early-to-mid-2000s metalcore, before everything became overly polished, sterile and obsessed with technical perfection. No overproduced djent sh*te, no generic radio-friendly choruses. I want to make something raw, heavy, chaotic and emotionally charged that pays homage to the bands that made this sound so special in the first place, while still bringing something fresh to the table.
A little about me:
I’ve been writing, recording and performing music for well over 10 years, with plenty of experience fronting bands, recording vocals and playing live shows. I’m comfortable with a range of harsh vocal styles, and I’ve got my own home studio vocal setup, so recording demos, exchanging ideas and developing material remotely is absolutely no problem.
I’m looking for people who are genuinely passionate about this particular sound and want to build something serious. Ideally, I’d love to find musicians who are interested in writing original material, recording and releasing music, playing shows and eventually getting out on the road.
I’m based in Lewes but more than happy to travel anywhere around Brighton and East Sussex for rehearsals.
I’ve got demos of my vocals that I’m more than happy to send over, so if this sounds like something you’d be interested in, drop me a PM! We can exchange WhatsApps, share some music and ideas, and I’ll happily show you what I’m capable of.
Whether you’re an established band looking for a vocalist or a guitarist, bassist or drummer who’s been itching to start something along these lines, I’d love to hear from you.
