Guitarist seeking versatile and proficient vocalist for new covers band. I am already in an active covers band however am just looking to try something a little different and see where it leads.
Looking to play the general rock standards (Zeppelin, AC/DC, Free etc) as well as giving a few classic metal tracks a try, thinking of early metal (Sabbath, Motorhead etc) up to early 00s era 'nu-metal' type stuff (SOAD, Disturbed ..and so on).
However anything in-between would be nice too. When I say metal also, I do not wish to play anything by bands such as BFMV or Asking Alexandria or similar. That particular style is not something I am interested in, and not something I would appreciate someone trying to shoehorn in later down the line.
Obviously the ideal vocalist should be able to carry their voice well for the more virtuous 'classic' styles but be able to sing in a harsher style for the heavier numbers. The important thing is keeping tone throughout of course.
At the moment there is just myself on-board for this project, however I have a few reliable and proficient people I can bring in to fill out the rest of the band - who would be up for things when asked. I thought I would try and get the hardest to find member first before leaving everyone else hanging.
I'm based in the Spennymoor area, so anyone from this area or nearby would be great. Age isn't important however I am only interested in people who have their own transport or can arrange their own reliable transport, having been in a situation where band members have relied on others to ferry them around - this is not something I wish to face again. Having your own PA system would be advantageous also.
If you're interested please get in touch, I'm quite a laid-back and easy to get along with type of person & this is something I'd be quite keen to play around with and get off the ground. Ideally I'd like to see videos or listen to recordings of your singing too if you have any.
Not looking to fill my weekends with constant gigs either, I have a busy life with other hobbies and interests (not to mention gigs already in the calendar with the other band) - so would optimistically only be looking for 1-2 gigs per month, if things got that far.
If this sounds like its for you, I look forward to hearing from you.
