On the look out for a vocalist and guitarist (if you can do both that's preferable) that are interested in playing in a serious originals group, firmly rooted in darker guitar music but with the mind to push the genre into new and different territory, writing collaboratively as one unit where everyone contributes equally. Want to create and play music that is atmospheric, cinematic, moody, but not afraid of hooks or experimentation. Something along the lines of post-punk and post-rock music but wanting to bring in other ideas from other genres such as jazz, blues, soul, electronic etc.
Influences in a nutshell are bands as follows: Interpol, Marching Church, Ice Age, David Bowie (Blackstar as a prime example of where we would want to go creatively), Bauhaus, The Sound, The Chameleons, Echo and The Bunnymen, Television, The Smiths, The Drums, The National, Explosions in The Sky, Radiohead, TV On The Radio, Bonobo, This Will Destroy You, Baxter Duty, Donny Mccaslin, Preoccupations, Iggy Pop, and others.
The band so far is myself on bass, a drummer, and guitarist located in Birmingham/the West Midlands. We are looking to write and practice regularly. Already have about 6 songs worth of material waiting for someone to contribute to. Aged 25 - 30.
After people that are creatively minded, committed, and will invest themselves into this project as much as we are willing to. This is more important than musical ability.
