Hi, I’m Jonny, and I’m looking to put together a dedicated Van Halen tribute band celebrating the complete legacy of Van Halen — covering both the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras.
Van Halen have been a huge influence on me, especially Alex Van Halen’s drumming, and the aim is to create a live show that celebrates the whole journey of the band — from the classic early years through to the Sammy era — including the huge hits, fan favourites and deeper cuts.
I’ll be taking on the Alex Van Halen drum role, and I’m looking for the right musicians to complete the lineup:
Eddie Van Halen-style guitarist:
Looking for a guitarist who can capture Eddie’s iconic tone, feel, phrasing, creativity and legendary solos, while bringing the energy and musicianship that made him one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Lead vocalist
Looking for someone who can confidently cover both the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras — from the attitude, swagger and character of the early years to the power and vocal range required for the Sammy material.
Michael Anthony-style bassist / backing vocalist:
Looking for a bassist who can provide the groove and feel of Michael Anthony’s playing, but also has strong backing vocal ability. Those trademark high harmonies are a huge part of what makes Van Halen sound like Van Halen.
The vision is to create something that is more than just a group of musicians — I want to build a proper band where everyone shares the same passion, enjoys rehearsals, has a laugh together and becomes friends along the way.
I’m looking for like-minded musicians who:
- Love Van Halen across all eras
- Understand the importance of both the Roth and Hagar years
- Want to put on an energetic and authentic live show
- Are committed, reliable and easy to work with
- Leave egos at the door and work together as a team
This isn’t about trying to prove who the biggest Van Halen fan is or competing with each other — it’s about celebrating one of the greatest rock bands ever and creating something we can all be proud of.
