I’m looking for a bassist, vocalist and drummer interested in rocking out during the day so you are likely to be mature and “without portfolio” on the work front.
The vision is of some fun replicating the great power trios of 70s, 80s and beyond and play some less obvious songs from bands like LA Guns, Ian Gillan, Bernie Torme, Budgie, The Pink Fairies, Motorhead, Jake E Lee’s Badlands, Ozzy, Leslie West, Montrose and early Gary Moore rockers - stuff we want to play!
Still interested? Here are a few “FAQs” as they would say in the corporate world:
Q: I love the sound of this but can it be evenings and weekends as I’m working?
A: Sorry, I’m already committed with other projects at those times.
Q: Sounds great but can we play stuff people know like Teenage Kicks and Summer of ’69?
A: There are lots of bands out there you could join who do that but this isn’t one of them.
Q: Sounds great but can you guarantee me paid gigs to make it worth my while?
A: No - see answer above and apply to those bands.
Q: Can my mate who plays rhythm guitar come along too?
A: No, this is power trio [plus vocals] like all my heroes did.
Q: Where will you rehearse?
A: Great daytime rates are available at Firebird and Brunel Studios in Bristol.
Q: I like the sound of this but can’t be bothered to practice or rehearse much - is this ok?
A: I recommend Sky Sports as your best option.
Q: I’m a natural at this and have been in loads of bands and will bring ideas to turn it into a Nile Rogers Tribute with a laser show included - when do I start?
A: Sorry, this is not for you and suggest you see a doctor - you may be suffering from “Hello Wembley” syndrome.
Do get in touch if you are still interested.
