We are an established 3-piece (soon to be 2-piece) band, local to Lowestoft - Suffolk. Unfortunately due to other commitments, we are soon to be without a bass player. Though this is frustrating, myself (Chris) and Alex see this as a great opportunity to work with a new, likeminded person to further this venture and take it to the next level.
A bit about the music we play and our aspirations. Our priority is to enjoy and have fun in what we do (otherwise what’s the point). Of course we take it seriously when we need to. But most of all it’s the gratification of entertaining. Concerning our ‘gigging’ aspirations, we’ll happily take them as they come, but typically aim for once a month. This will average out between busy and quiet periods – which is fine. But we find this level keeps it enjoyable and doesn’t take over our already busy lives
We consider ourselves to be a fun, fast and highly energetic cover band mixed with plenty of humour. We play anything from Punk Rock such as Blink-182 & Green Day, right the way through to Aha, Blondie and Time Warp; a wide variety for all.
So what are we looking for? Without being too prescriptive. We are ideally looking somebody to join who is like minded, positive, similar aged and importantly, local to the area. For context, we are both 30 & 31.
In terms of your ability, we are not experts and so nor do we expect you to be. I consider most of our songs to be navigable by a confident bassist. The ability to sing backing vocals is preferable also. Previous ‘on stage’ experience isn’t an absolute requirement, though it will help significantly; but we understand that there are talented people out there without it.
We practice in Oulton Broad and typically aim for 1 no. 2 hour session a week. In terms of equipment, we have a full digital set-up and PA with back facing monitors. As a minimum you would need is your guitar, amp (or module) and pedal. But any other kit you have the could contribute or improve would of course be welcomed. We have a separate set-up for practice.
We have considered a start date and plan for a transition. Our current bassist has committed to our next two gigs. 1 in late June and another, a wedding late July. With your arrival, we would suggest that August would be suitable to start as a new 3 piece. The time between now and then would be for you to realise the set-list as well as practice with us separately - we are flexible on this. All music is combined / scripted for each member and set-lists available to learn once the right person comes on board after an informal audition / jam.
So what’s next? If you believe you ‘fit the bill’ and are interested in joining us on this adventure, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Chris on 07704 693370 or send a message on WhatsApp.
We look forward to hearing and should you require any additional information please ask. Feel free to also have a look at our Facebook page.
