THE BEAT INSTITUTE – DRUMMER WANTED
The Beat Institute are an established Derbyshire-based 4-piece band with good quality gigs in the diary playing the very best of 60’s Mod, Soul and Rock & Roll.
Our set is built around upbeat, energetic songs from bands such as The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Small Faces, The Kinks and The Animals, alongside a few soul classics from Stax and Motown.
We’re very much about the edgier side of the sixties – think Carnaby Street, Mods and sharp suits rather than Cliff, The Shadows and easy-listening pop. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves that era and wants to help bring that music to life.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Loves 60’s music or is willing to immerse themselves in it quickly.
• Has their own transport and good quality equipment.
• Can commit to approximately 20-30 good quality gigs per year.
• Is reliable, organised and communicates well.
• Is willing to rehearse initially and learn material independently.
• Can contribute ideas, promotion and have input into the general running of the band.
• Is happy to dress appropriately and look the part on stage.
• Backing vocals are a bonus but not essential.
We’re not looking for a hired hand who simply turns up and plays. We want someone who enjoys being part of the journey, contributes to the band and takes pride in helping us put on a great show.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone dependable, enthusiastic and keen to be part of a band that loves playing this music and having a good time doing it.
Interested? Get in touch by dropping us a message on here and tell us a bit about yourself, your musical background along with video of you performing.
