Are you local to Berkshire, and Grade 7 or above on a string instrument? I could use your help!
I am looking to put together a dedicated string quartet with other musicians, between the ages of 18-40. We would seek to both perform at formal venues and functions such as weddings, parties, churches etc., as well as just have a bit of casual fun playing in a group with each other every week outside of performances. The focus will always be the music! <3
Members would ideally need to be Berkshire-based and at a Grade 7 standard or above to match each other; we would first have an audition session to meet with one another prospectively and chat things through one-one-one, with maybe a few excerpts to see your skill level and how you would mesh with the quartet. The group would then meet together informally just to have a chat about our vision as a quartet, goals, ideal pieces, and strengths over lunch or a drink. Once we’re all introduced and on the same page we can begin proper weekly rehearsals.
**We will hold practices in a pre-acquired rehearsal space in central Wokingham.**
Repertoire will range from timeless classical selections - Pachelbel, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert - to custom arrangements of pop, rock, and other modern genres, including those in the style of Lindsey Stirling, DUOMO and Vitamin String Quartet (think Bridgerton!). How we pick our future pieces can be decided once the group is established, i.e. by popular vote.
If this is something that interests you, please drop me a reply! I’m also available on Instagram via @koolkriisk !

A little about me:
My name is Kit, and I’m a 27 year old York graduate working in marketing & graphic design. I’ve played violin since I was 2 years old (!), and have played in the National Children’s Orchestra, Berkshire Youth Orchestra & Maestros, both the York & Crowthorne Symphony, as well as pit orchestras such as Les Mis and Sweeney Todd.
I did my degree in languages so I’m unfortunately not formally accredited in violin or anything, but I’ve got plenty of experience and miss playing dearly, so I’d love to be part of a regular, more dedicated group that shares the same passion for music as I do.
