Hi all,
This is proving rather hard work at the moment!
We now have half of a working rock band - Lead Guitarist and Bassist, both can sing backing vocals depending on the song.
Now we need to find a lead vocalist who can also play rhythm guitar ideally, although would consider 2 separate musicians if both are really good. We also need a drummer to complete the line-up.
We'd like to get a band up and running that can get pub and function gigs and hopefully have a good time whilst earning a wee bit of cash for doing something we love. Think around 2 gigs a month, that's where we want to be eventually.
None of us are fussed about making it a full-time earner but we would like to put together a really tight covers band. We're both keen to work hard to be good at what we do and we are looking for other like minded musicians!
In terms of music, our influences are mainly rock and indie rock.
The bands we all like that we've agreed on so far are: -
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Franz Ferdinand
The Strokes
The Killers
Kaiser Chiefs
Muse
Razorlight
Arctic Monkeys
Queen
U2
Doesn't mean we just need to play their songs though, it's about finding songs we all like to play which would (most importantly) get people up dancing! Anyone joining the band would obviously get to discuss song ideas as well. We purposefully haven't created any set lists yet till we have the full band up and running.
We both have previous gigging experience and I will help to find us gigs once we're ready. As a bonus we'd like to find someone who is interested in taking on their share of running the band, even if it's just the Facebook page - I'm hopeless at them.
Please only ask for more information if you are genuinely interested in coming to a jamming session and if you meet either of the 3 band roles required above.
Please only committed musicians with reliable gear and own transport. Not looking for any egos really, ability to play amazingly is less important than being able to listen to what the rest of the band are doing and control volume so the vocals can be heard without the vocalist having to scream.
