At the height of the tribute era few years ago, I played for several bands doing Ozzy/Sabbath and Dio/Sabbath/Rainbow, having a great time going the festival scene and making a good few quid on the side. Unfortunately, our drummer passed away and although we had some amazing guys dep, he was always going to be un-replaceable and none of us wanted to carry on without him.
After a few years away, I was approached whilst playing at a UK rock festival this weekend and asked my opinion on returning to playing music from that era once again.
What I would be looking to put together a live show, based on the best tracks from Sabbath's Live Evil, Ozzy's Speak of the Devil and the Randy Rhoads tribute albums, put to 3 distinctive acts.
I have an amazing singer and am probably looking to handle the bass parts as I love Geezer and Bob Daisley (although I'd happy move to Guitar or keys if we got the right guys on-board).
I appreciate none of this stuff is easy, especially the Randy/Brad Gillis guitar parts, but before I speak to the normal faces (who I know will be over committed to their own projects), I just thought I put some feelers out to see if there is any talent out there I've not worked with, it also important to me the line-up feels fresh.
Ideally, I'm looking for someone currently working at semi pro level or looking to step up. Age/Sex/Creed I don't care about as long it the ability is there, and your gear is of a decent class. I also couldn’t give a monkey if you play in other bands, we all do. just as long as you’re able to commit and any dates which get booked,
I’m probably looking at a dozen decent venue gigs (possibly done as a tour) and 6/8 festival slots over summer 2019. However, with that said I love this stuff so it does to take over, or else it did last time.
Ideally it would suit someone currently working as Semi pro or looking to step up, although I’d want the minimum time in the rehearsal room.
Any genuine interest, drop me a line. With ideally link to you playing.
Cheers
