A Lennon McCartney situation is one rare thing, but I’d love to find a fellow songwriter to collaborate with. I’m also just looking to set up a great rock and roll group, Emphasis on good melody and song, harmonising, as well as a raw rock/ rhythm and blues energy.
I’m 27 and I’ve been singing and playing guitar for 15 years. Have been writing my own songs here and there for most of that time. I’ve gone off on different tangents over the years exploring different styles but I’ve come full circle to what I’ve always loved, honesty, simple instrumentation, pure simple melody, and good energy in those old rhythm and blues.
As you can probably tell from the title, I’m a big Beatles fan.. always have been. Recently I’ve become firm in my belief that they evolved as a band in the best possible ways - how they started as performers in Hamburg covering all the 50s influences, and gradually inserting their own inflections until they had a wide enough repetoire to write solid originals. What I’m trying to say is, even though I want to write my own songs, I’d be happy following that kind of approach - where as a band we find our feet in copying a range of songs we love and naturally glide into writing our own.
I see a lot of bands hiding behind the effects, if I can be so blunt.. what I feel is rare to find is a group is one that can sing in harmony and perform with power using limited instrumentation - just guitars with amplifiers, no pedals. Good clean singing, playing and rock n rolling, having a good time
If any of that sounds up your street, write me back!
