You know that feeling when a song finally locks in at rehearsal—the drums hit properly, the chorus opens up, and everyone in the room knows there’s something there?
That’s what I’m looking to build with Sleepburn.
The sound sits between post-grunge, alternative metal and modern heavy rock: low-tuned riffs, darker verses, big melodic choruses and plenty of weight, but not centred around screaming.
Think Chevelle, Seether, Red, 10 Years and Tremonti as reference points—not a tribute to any one of them.
There’s already a strong catalogue of original material to work from, with the first live set currently being narrowed down. The songs provide a real starting point, but they aren’t supposed to remain untouchable demos. The right drummer, bassist and vocalist would bring their own feel, rewrite parts where needed and help turn them into something that sounds like an actual band.
Currently looking for:
- Vocalist
- Drummer
- Bassist
- Possibly a second guitarist if the right person comes along
You don’t need to be a session-level musician. Being able to play your instrument, contribute creatively, turn up reliably and genuinely care about the music matters much more.
The aim is to get a strong set together, rehearse regularly in Leicester, start gigging and see how far we can take it. Serious enough to make progress, but without making every rehearsal feel like a corporate meeting.
Ideally, I’m looking for people somewhere around their 20s or 30s who want an original band they can properly invest themselves in—not just another casual jam that disappears after three rehearsals.
If you can already hear yourself playing this kind of music, send me a message with:
- What you play
- A few bands you’re into
- Anything you’ve recorded, if you have it
No polished audition package needed. A quick message is enough to start.
