Hey everyone
I’m a 37-year-old singer/guitarist in the process of putting a new band together.
I’m looking for a drummer, bass player, lead guitarist and possibly keys/synth.
I have a full setlist of songs already written (as in chords, lyrics and melody) – in terms of style and my vocal delivery I see them being along the lines of Joy Division, Interpol, The National, Jesus and Mary Chain, White Lies, Editors etc.
However, as they are currently very raw there is still a lot of room for creativity and I’d love to find some bandmates that could come in and put their own stamp and flavour on their different parts.
I’m also really inspired by bands such as The War On Drugs, Public Service Broadcasting, Sigur Ros, Daughter and Explosions In The Sky so it would be great to find some bandmates that could help to build elements of that kind of soundscape into things.
I work Monday to Friday and have bills to pay so this isn’t going to be a case of dropping everything and doing whatever we can to get a record deal.
That said, I intend to take this very seriously and would be looking for bandmates that are as committed as I am to making these songs the best they can be. This would involve rehearsing at least once a week until we are as tight as we need to be before going on to record and play live.
Go to https://soundcloud.com/great-fires for a really rough live recording of one of my tunes.
The sound quality isn’t great but should give you a general idea.
If this interests anyone then drop me a message and we can chat further.
Nice one!
Iain
