Hi Oxana! Thought I'd give you a quick message. Had a listen to some stuff on your instagram. You have a great blues voice! If you are looking for something for when you come to Wales thats a little bit more than a pub rock band..
Basically I'm looking for people to join in with a bit of a crazy project. I had wanted a female singer for the lead role if at all possible. I'm putting together a new glam rock project and I'm on the lookout for the right singer but also the right frontwoman. It's definitely not your average band – the idea is to create something that's fun, over-the-top, theatrical and a bit bonkers in the best possible way.
Musically it's inspired by classic 70s glam and classic rock like Sweet, Slade, Joan Jett, Suzi Quattro, Heart, T. Rex, KISS and Alice Cooper, with big hooks, big choruses and a lot of boogie. The aim is to put on the kind of show people leave grinning from ear to ear. Basically the aim is to create something that's essentially the musical equivalent of a classic 1970s British comic annual, larger-than-life characters, adventure, humour, escapism and plenty of rock 'n' roll.
The twist is that it's built around a theatrical visual identity and an original fictional world, so it's intended to be much more of a full entertainment experience than a standard rock band.
I've already written a substantial amount of material and have been developing the characters, artwork and wider world around it. I'd love the people involved to have creative input. At this stage I'm not really looking for someone to simply turn up and sing songs. A lot of the early work is about bouncing ideas around, developing characters, visuals, stage concepts and generally building something unique together.
The project revolves around larger-than-life personas and storytelling, so the vocalist would be a genuine focal point rather than somebody standing at the side of the stage singing material written by someone else. There would be a lot of scope to help shape the character, image, presentation and put their personal stamp on the role from the ground up.
It's definitely a bit more ambitious and eccentric than the average band, but I thought you might be the sort of person who'd appreciate that.
You seemed like someone who might fit the vibe, so I thought I'd reach out and see if you'd be interested in hearing a bit more about it.
No worries if it's not your thing, but I thought I'd ask!
Cheers,
Neal
