Hello. I'm a singer looking for a band to join. I started weekly singing lessons with a vocal coach about 6 months ago, after discovering I was suddenly able to hold a tune (something I hadn't been able to do until fairly recently) and am now at the point I feel confident enough to sing with a band and potentially gig.
My teacher is always complimenting me on how high I can sing and says my voice is great for hard rock/metal.
I'm a huge Iron Maiden fan so sing a fair bit of that, but I practise a range of stuff from SOAD and RHCP, Dio, GnR, Bad Religion, Muse, REM, MSP, Savage Garden, even a bit of Robbie Williams. I'm working on an audition set of Can't Stop, Sweet Child Of Mine and Toxicity as I think they cover my range and styles well, as well as being fairly well known.
I'm a bassist in my current band, we've been together for over 10 years, not currently gigging but were gigging roughly monthly at one point, and I can play drums and guitar as well but looking to be a non-instrumentalist lead vocalist
Ideally looking for either a covers band that could be anything from pop-rock to heavy metal. And/Or an original music band but I have no experience writing vocal melodies, would be willing to give it a go as I seem to be able to improvise in key to an extent, but my music theory knowledge is extremely limited so would work best with someone able to write the vocal melodies and any harmonies etc
I don't seem to be great at the growling/screaming so nothing too heavy, the heavier bits in things like SOAD is about my limit there, not averse to mixing some rapping in if desired also. My knowledge of current/modern music is terrible, but willing to listen to stuff and discover new things.
Would be available for practising once a week or fortnight anywhere within about half hour of Wokingham. Age range not an issue for me but fyi I'm 34 and work full time (currently from home) but don't have many other commitments other than my current band
Hit me up on my email if you are interested in seeing what I can can bring to the table.
Cheers
Nick
