Our classic rock covers band is in need of a singer.
Gender and level of experience, really dont mind - anyone with a good, ballsy rock voice is welcome to audition. And we WILL want you to audition (shouldn't really have to say this, but this lil detail has put some people off in the past and wasted a great deal of time and effort on our part).
We are all pretty old - we considered calling our band The Coffin Dodgers - so a more "mature" person might fit better than a starry-eyed teenager.
We are pretty committed to doing the classic rock thing - it's what we enjoy - so if you're planning to come in wanting to do Ed Sheeran / Abba / Rihanna songs, that's probably not going to work. There's some wiggle room, of course - but if you don't like singing rock material (or don't have the voice for it), then we're both wasting our time. Have a nice life.
"Classic rock covers", you say? "There's no money in that!" you say. Youre 100% right, and we don't care. We're not doing it for the money. If you are, then please go join a function/wedding band. You'll be so much happier there. NEXT!
Still here? Good. The Force is strong in this one.
Plans? Build a new set with our new singer, do some gigs now and again when/if we can find someone who'll have us, and just enjoy it. We're currently a 4-piece (2 guitars, bass, drums), and we've been playing together for a good while now. I'm actually the "new boy", and I joined in Jan 2019. My, how time does fly. Sadly, none of us can sing any better than "backing vocal" standard. That's where you come in.
If you do join, you'll be expected to pay your share of rehearsal costs. Again, shouldn't have to say this but....
We rehearse in MK or nearby. This is not likely to change. If this is going to be a ballache for you, then, again, you might not be our guy/girl/other.
To give you a feel for what we like to do, some songs that we've rehearsed with our previous singer and might well form part of a new setlist:
Aerosmith: Sweet Emotion
Golden Earring: Radar Love
AC/DC: Rock n Roll Damnation
Free: Wishing Well
Santana: Black Magic Woman
Cozy Powell: Dance with the Devil (instrumental, drum showcase)
Steppenwolf: Born to be Wild
Bon Jovi: Wanted Dead or Alive
The Pretty Reckless: Take Me Down (they don't HAVE to be old songs)
Foo Fighters: Learning to Fly
None of this is cast in stone - we're always ready to try out new songs - but this gives you an idea of what we're about.
If you're stil here, congratulations on your stamina and attention span. Get in touch and we'll see what happens.
