Hi I'm Amooti Ade
"UPDATE WE NOW HAVE A GUITARIST"
I'm looking forward to next decade and saying goodbye to the last.
A little about me,
There's no point if you don't get on, so if your not on the same page than the music will suffer.
So if you are purely about the music than this probably isn't for you, but good luck with it.
If on the other hand the music is important, If however you see it as just a vehicle in order to promote a message, and a band the excuse to have good times with friends..........then keep on reading.
I have to admit it, I bowed out off the scene over a decade ago.
Personal reasons but I shaved my mo off, got a job and that was that, or so I thought.
A decade later and I've never been unhappier, I have a good job, car, house, and a lot of other material bullwhip. But something is missing?
I'm a fraudster, I'm pretending to fit in, everyone in work knows it, they are not my people and never can be. "Or am I in the wrong place"
That brings me to here, well I won't go back, and I won't re tell history, I want to make it.
So some history,
I was involved in the music and games industry before I bowed out.
I played and promoted, the one thing I have learned from that time was it doesn't matter how good or not you are, just look at Oasis.
It's down to a mixture of dedication, patience, promotion, and luck.
There is no point in going on tour for a couple of days,
part time bands get part time fans.
If you don't walk the walk, you can't talk the talk.
Okay if that's your thing and you want to juggle two or even three lives at once that's fine but it's not for me,
I need to concentrate on one thing at a time and then I can give it my all.
I'm not going to make to much noise if I'm stuck behind a desk, that's in hand.
I have lived in squats in the past and don't mind roughing it.
I'm looking at ways to secure a tour bus that I plan on living in, most of the time lol.
So I bowed out and now it's time fom me to bow back in.
You only get one life, but no one said you only get one chance.
I don't want to look back and regret that I gave over half my life working to create someone else's wealth nor create my own. I'm happy enough just getting by.
I want to do the things that make me happy not sad and inspire my days not wake up in dread thinking "Monday morning here we go around again"
(Groundhog).
Okay before we get to the music,
Who comes first.
Who are you?
Are you sick of lifes little merry-go-round. "I am"
Sick of trying to make ends meat.
Got a political view point. "Doesn't everyone"
Are you happy to live of grid with all the trouble that can bring.
Do you:
Want to have good times,
Do you like to travel and can you rough it.
D.I.Y outlook, can do attitude,
But most of all do you want to promote
peace love and understanding,
then this could be for you.
I'm not bothered about fame or fortune,
I'm not looking to be the next big thing.
I just want to travel and play, so any money's will be used to finance that.
At the present moment, due to my work I have access to recording studios, practice rooms, equipment and more.
However I don't plan on working to much longer. Once We have enough material to go on the road with then unfortunately work will only hamper the progression of the band.
The Music:
Influence, for this project I have a particular sound and style I'm aiming for. "But that's only a aim" (open to discussion and change)
A Cross of Ska/Punk/Metal/Crust with influence from other styles.
Male and Female vocal.
Mix the inner terrestrials with chocking victim/loc and add female vocal you'll be close to the sound I'm aiming for.
I'm a musician, I play various instruments. I'm currently on bass.
I sing...........but in punk so can anyone, some better than others haha.
I have a working knowledge of music theory.
At the beginning of the year I picked up the bass again, I have played guitar for too many years for me to admit.
I started playing just for fun, went through my scales, learnt a variety of songs, different techniques and styles rock, metal, reggae, ska, punk.
But very quickly I caught the bug and couldn't put her down.
I'm pretty versatile and have transferred alot of skills from the guitar and timing is second nature as I play drums, but I know I have work to do.
I'm confident that I can hold my own and keep up. Don't worry. (Any Style)
That said I'm not looking for the next slash or some rock God.
In fact definitely not, it just wouldn't fit.
Punk is not that complex and doesn't need to be hard to play. "Fast maybe"
It's about getting a message across and bopping around to the beat, if you want to make a masterpiece then you are looking in the wrong place.
If you wanna bop to some rough ska than your on the right track.
So all this crazynes happened.
I started to think that I'd rather not be in work. "I still am"
I started playing most of the time,
I thought back to travelling around when playing drums. "I was never that good but it was easy as a drummer you didn't need to be good, just turn up. It wasn't that easy to be replaced lol"
I earned half of what I do today and did not have much to my name......but I was a dam site happier, I was my own person. "I want that again"
Okay we are all going to be hit in one way or another by the upcoming down turn.
"As one door closes another opens"
But then something clicked and I was no longer content with the life that I'm leading, if you don't change it then who else will.
In more usual times I would go to a few gigs, meet up with some old friends see who is up for jamming etc.
But that's not going to happen for a while yet. "Why Wait"
So that brings me here; join my band, 2020, the internet, the future.
I'm not prejudiced so I don't care about your race, gender, age, sexual orientation.
I do care about your politics. But that's open for discussion.
I'm an Anarchist but that is only a political viewpoint. For now, lol.
He have, guitar, bass.
We, need,
Guitarist/s?............Vocals.............Drummer .
We also have a spare drum kit, and practice spaces
UPDATE WE NOW HAVE A GUITARIST.
I have penned a few lyrics out , however I don't want to sing, I will do if I have to, but I have no desire to sing.
I love my bass too much.
I don't want to sacrifice ability to play and have fun in order to be a front person.
I don't want to write songs before the band have even played together a few times, so would suggest each member submitted a song or two that we can cover "for practice only" in order to get a feel for playing together.
That way we can try and match ability between one another before committing to anything.
I don't want to hold anyone back and at the same time don't want to be arguing the finer points of musical structure, when it sounds done it's done.
Like a painting, you can add too much.
I just want to play raw punk and ska. It's not that difficult. "really"
Then spend a few weeks putting a EP together, after that practice it up ready to tour in 2021 if not earlier and record it.
I'm looking forward to comiting all my free time and energy so need band members who feel the same way too.
I drive so I wouldn't mind doing the majority of the driving but it would be nicer to have at least a second driver in the group.
If we get larger than 4 members than we will need two tour buses in order to stay on the road for long periods and therefore two drivers.
I don't want to limit numbers but it is a lot harder on logistics the more members.
So would aim for 4 members ideally but for recording perpus the more the better, family friends the Homeless dude sat outside the day off recording anyone who wants to join in really.
Finance: "horrible word"
As for finance, unless you are wealthy such as Blur or you make it! As the say. Finance is a struggle "the struggle is real"
It would be up to each member to finance their lifestyle, Chumbawamba said they wouldn't have managed in the early years "first decade" if they had not been able to claim dole.
I don't have first hand experience of Universal Credit but I'm sure it's not the same as the dole was when I used to claim, so is that a option? I don't know.
It is the problem most bands suffer from, how to finance themselves, it usually ends up that you spend all the time trying to make money have no time and the band suffers.
For me this is a lifestyle change and no matter how much it costs is worthwhile but unless you are happy to live hand to mouth then you will struggle in this band.
You have to take chances in life, I want to play music and to do that I know I will have to make sacrifices along the way.
If you are serious about making music and don't want fame and fortune than it shouldn't matter that you don't have a steady income, just that you are surviving, travelling and playing music to a crowd.
I said before that I worked in the music industry and have worked as a promoter.
This was invaluable as it gave me a good understanding of how the system works and how to keep a tour on the road. Experience is worth more than funds because funds run out.
This is not a part time band and would require basically living in each others pockets for long periods.
I'm a traveller by nature and I don't like being tied down by properly and government checks.
Ideally the band will become my travelling family and we will have all we need within our community.
Who wants to be part of a oppressive society anyway.
There is no name, no songs, no nothing, but there is a blank canvas waiting.
I do not want ownership over this project I would like it to own itself and belong to the fans.
So if you have got to this point and not thought toss r then message me via this page or Facebook, and lets see where it goes from there.
Either way I'm done with the way things are, this is my final call.
Sorry that I wrote a book, however If you are not on my page, very few will be, I know that.
We will be playing regular clubs and bars, but also alot of irregular places.
Not always legit, so I'm only really appealing to, Punks, Crusties or anyone who disagrees with society and wants out.
