Established semi-pro 70s glam rock covers band needs a bass player
We mostly play clubs, with some holiday park work, and the occasional wedding. We don't play pubs. We generally play around the Midlands or on the East Coast, but we will travel further for high-paid gigs. We have an agent. We also have our own PA.
We're looking for someone who wants to gig regularly (4-8 gigs a month). Other projects are likely to happen too, not just the glam band. There are plenty of paid gigs in the diary for the rest of 2018, and our agent can get us plenty more.
We play songs by The Sweet, T-Rex, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Slade, Roxy Music, Status Quo, Queen, ELO, Bay City Rollers, Mud, etc.
We're looking to take on an accomplished player because we want to take things to the next level. We're all very good musicians, and we have a high-energy drummer (not your usual wet lettuce covers drummer). The material is admittedly not that hard, but we want someone with a good feel who can lock in tight with the drummer because that's the key to getting a crowd going.
We also want someone who's good on stage, because this band is all about entertaining people. We do the full dressing-up, wearing wigs, and all that sort of thing, so you have to be willing to do that. It's not a band for a quiet and dignified person.
You will need to be able to pick things up quick. Vocals an advantage, but not necessary. Reliability and willingness to gig a lot are essential. If you have demos of yourself that will help too.
We have a keyboard player with all the sounds so it isn't one of those bands where every song sounds the same.
We will rehearse once a week in Blidworth (south of Mansfield) to get everything up to speed, and after that we'll rehearse less.
