SEEKING FEMALE (RESERVE) LEAD VOCALIST
Late Night Boogie Band are a mature five piece group ranging in age from 40’s to 60’s. We play big banger covers aimed at filling the dance floor.
As a band we focus purely on playing social clubs. We get paid but splitting the money five ways means very modest earnings for each band member.
None of us are doing this for the money, the objective is to have fun. We are fortunate in having a very talented female lead singer. However, when band members go on holiday the dates sometimes clash with when a venue might wish to hire the band. As a result we are seeking a reserve female vocalist. The word reserve is probably a bit misleading as the right candidate will be guaranteed gig time, either as a stand in or by increasing the band size to six for selected gigs. When this happens the reserve singer will be asked to do backing vocals, but will also be given several songs to sing lead on. Thus making it worthwhile taking on the role.
The ideal candidate will have a good work ethic, be reliable, and enjoy a good laugh with the rest of the band. We are all experienced musicians who are doing this for enjoyment.
As a band we own several PA / fold back systems, and so apart from supplying your own mic and stand there is no need to supply any further equipment. We will loan a mic and stand to any suitable applicant that does not have one. Rehearsals are in Thatcham near Newbury, and we gig within a forty mile radius of that. We will take as long as needed to find the right candidate, and please note this is a reserve / backing singer role.
