Hello,
River Knight are an acoustic duo consisting of a vocalist, and an acoustic guitarist that also sings. Currently, when we play live it's just the 2 of us, but when we record we add extras into our music. We've tried the backing track route but it just hasn't worked out, so we're now starting to wonder if we should make RK a full band and add drums, keys, bass and lead guitar...
The presentation of our music would change with a full band so our recordings would only be a guideline. For instance, we only use a full drum kit on 3 of the songs on our album, but the songs that don't use a full kit will still have a beat (mostly), so there's room to play around and make it your own. And that would apply to any addition to the live sound, we're not trying to 100% duplicate the songs as we've recorded them but we would like to fill out the dynamics of them when playing live. I suppose we'd like them to evolve.
We have gigs lined up; 2 x Wild Festivals in April, in Hampshire and Dorset. Black Balloon Sessions in Pompey later in April, Underbelly in London in May and a couple of festivals in August including another Wild Festival in Gloucester.
Age not important - we're not grey yet (except the facial hair) and we're young at heart.
12 original songs with more on the way.
Around 20 covers at the moment.

We know RK will change quite dramatically with these additions so that shouldn't be a concern.
We appreciate we are not fully decided yet, but if the interest is there it'll make our minds up for us.
We are also open to other options and are willing to listen, maybe only one further instrument will provide what we need?
Currently rehearse at Pure in Southampton and River in Totton.
