After a fast start, we've suddenly lost our guitarist - we're working on ten songs for a set with myself on lead vocals/guitar, a bassist and a drummer, and starting in May we'll be rehearsing/working on Thursday evenings.
Send me a message if you like the pitch/video, here's a video of us down to a three playing an original song

Original post (Feb):
Member of successful Bristol band looking to put together a new band, ten years of stage and record production experience. Four songs played by BBC Bristol one of which got played on Planet Rock. Starting university again in September.
Influences (among others): Richard Ashcroft, Starsailor, Doves, JJ72, The Charlatans, Manics, Oasis' deep cuts, Super Furry Animals, Tears for Fears
So far, I've got a name, a page, a domain name and a small body of material in demo form. Catchy choruses! Interested in what others can contribute to writing and sonics.
The style would be: ranging from a bit shoegazey to a bit newwavey to a bit ballady, but never too far from soulful Britpop-ish rock. Not just "heavy sh*t" here! Think of it this way - bangers for the Chelsea and ballads for the Exchange main...
Ideally my starter pack would have a guitarist who likes, chorus, reverb and duelling guitars, a bassist who likes going up and down, and a drummer who likes doing scene-stealing fills. I'd sing lead and play guitar and don't believe that there has to be one lead singer and one lead guitarist. Willing to go beyond a four-piece standard lineup and keyboardists and singers encouraged to reach out.
I can switch instruments to cover an absence (if you're stranded in Prague and we're due to play Leeds, let's say, heh). We should do whatever we can to play the show! Willing to get stuck into recording ASAP, have all my own gear.
20s or early 30s preferred. Want to put together an outfit that can go the distance, and preferably get a weekly rehearsal/meeting day. Meet me for a drink and chat!
