***Looking for DRUMMER, SYNTH, and general PERCUSSION player for (or to join a) PSYCHEDELIC ROCK/DREAM POP/SHOEGAZE band***
Hey there! I'm Nathan, and I've just moved to the Bournemouth area from Melbourne, Australia where I've been gigging for the last 6 or so years in various psychedelic rock bands, while recording my own albums and studying music etc
It's been a dream of mine to get over here and throw myself into the music scene, so I'm looking to put a band together to play my psych rock/dream pop/shoegaze stuff live as Flicker Vertigo (I have a few albums on Spotify that you can suss out - https://open.spotify.com/track/4DYIqGazilavvy6r0r4jlW), and also to join any pre-existing bands/start some new ones (I've always been happiest when having 2-3 bands on the go!)
I have a full set ready to go, with charts/transcriptions if you need them too! I have a new album that will be rolling out soon (it blows the other ones out of the water, if I may say so!), so all we have to do is rehearse and then we can start gigging! ⚡⚡⚡

Have a bass player and lead guitarist sorted, and we're all ready to go and keen to gig asap, so no worries about mucking around for ages - so now just on the hunt for:
🥁 a DRUMMER that isn't afraid to belt the kit and let loose with drum fills left right and centre
🎹 a SYNTH player that can add some extra texture, trippiness and depth to the tunes
🪘 I also had a dedicated TAMBOURINE player at my last gig (check the footage above), à la Brian Jonestown Massacre! So don't be afraid to hit me up if you play miscellaneous percussion instruments and aren't afraid to get a bit freaky on stage - I want to keep this project as open-ended and fun as possible!
My main goal is to have a band that truly lets loose on stage and isn't afraid to be bold and a bit messy too. I want to push some boundaries and not play it safe. I'm also keen for everyone's personalities to shine on their instruments, so while there are written parts in the recordings, I'm happy for us to change things up live and let you do your own thing too
🌈 My music taste lies in the psychedelic rock realm, and floats between dreamy Innerspeaker-era Tame Impala vibes, fuzzy Thee Oh Sees vibes, and shoegaze My Bloody Valentine wall of sound vibes, so I'd love to get involved in a band with any of these things going on in them (happy to join if you have just one of these vibes - if you have multiple of them, then I love you already!). Also, while not the biggest metal fan, I do have a big big soft spot for doom metal and have been keen to join a doom band (Electric Wizard vibes) for a while too, so hit me up!
Few more bands up my alley for reference: King Gizzard, Dungen, Melody's Echo Chamber, Ty Segall, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, early The Mars Volta (Deloused era), Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Ride, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. Also love krautrock stuff like Can, and modern garage psych stuff influenced by it (like Gizz/Oh Sees etc)
As for me, I studied a Bachelor of Music for 4 years and am confident in my skills as a guitarist, and have also been a music teacher for a few years, so I have the chops and theoretical know-how required
I've played a lot of lead stuff in previous bands and can rip a solo or two, but I also love just smashing chords as well, so I'm totally happy to play either parts and know how to do both to a high standard. For Flicker Vertigo, I would mostly be doing rhythm, but for joining other bands, I'm happy to do either lead or rhythm

Would also be happiest playing with people loosely around my age too, so anywhere from early 20s to early 30s would work best for me - big apologies if you're in your 40s and beyond, keep doing your thing, I genuinely love to see it and am happy to play shows alongside your bands! ❤️
