Hi
I'm Tom, I'm 29 and I'm looking to find a good drummer and bassist to collab with on recording a song in a studio this autumn (ideally around September/October time) which can be released with an awesome looking professionally made music video (that part is already done and ready to go).
The video is about 4-5 minutes long and is more like a short movie than a typical band video. It was filmed in Kielder Forrest and it's quite surreal cinematic style. In terms of the music: think In Rainbows (Radiohead) meets early Coldplay (like Parachutes album era) meets Hanz Zimmer. I want to record a string quartet for the session too which I can sort out. I have past experience with this.
I'm into many different styles of music from classical music to blues/soul to Rock (Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse) to the more Indie stuff (The Cure, REM, The Smiths). Can't go wrong with The Beatles albums and ELO. Also love more modern bands like Bombay Bicycle Club, Fontaines DC, The National.
I have about 20 years experience as a guitarist and 5 years on piano/keys. I sing my own songs and would like to do so for this project. I studied music composition at uni in Glasgow, and when I was there I played guitar in a band for 4 years. Played a lot of gigs in Glasgow and we recorded three songs and released on Spotify.
I moved back to the North East a couple years ago and I'm keen to get a new band going with some like-minded people. It be great to find some people around the same age as me BUT it's not a dealbreaker, if you're easy-going, enthusiastic and have some experience that is the main thing.
I think this project would be ideal for two people who are into a wide range of music, enjoy creative collaboration, know their instruments well, and are keen to do something quite ambitious and can dedicate time every week to meet up and rehearse. Also, I'm a sociable person and it be good to go for a pint in town!
