Featured Professional Musicians Wanted for Long-Term Live Band UK
Friday 17 Jul 2026, 6:38pm
Updated: 17 July 2026
Application deadline: 31 July 2026
Location: Primarily London
Advert reference: IUS-LIVE-LDN-2026-0731
Hi,
My name is Peter. I am the founder, director, guitarist, composer and songwriter behind the project. I am now building a committed team of musicians to develop and perform the I/US Music® repertoire at live shows, festivals, showcases and other suitable events.
Professional musicians are being selected to form the first stable core live line-up for I/US Music®.
This is paid, freelance and project-based work. However, the project is still in its early development phase.
It is not:
- one-off session-musician bookings;
- occasional deputy or stand-in work;
- rotation-based line-ups;
- isolated paid rehearsals or performances;
- guaranteed regular bookings from the outset;
- established-project or premium session-player fees from the first show.
Applicants should understand that the early phase will focus on preparing the repertoire, establishing the line-up, developing the live production and securing appropriate performance opportunities.
This opportunity may suit you if you are looking for more than an individual session or occasional booking.
You should apply if you want to:
- become an established member of a developing live project;
- build strong musical chemistry with a consistent group of performers;
- participate in paid rehearsals, sessions and performances;
- contribute to the development of the band’s live identity;
- grow professionally and commercially alongside the project;
- remain involved as the number and value of opportunities increase.
Please do not apply if your main objective is one-off session work, occasional deputy work or guaranteed high-rate bookings from the beginning.
Applicants must be able to:
- perform confidently and accurately in a live setting;
- prepare their assigned material independently;
- arrive fully prepared for rehearsals, studio sessions and performances;
- follow authorised arrangements and musical direction;
- communicate professionally;
- remain reliable after accepting a booking;
- provide suitable instruments and personal equipment for their role.
With the exception of the studio drum kit, performers will normally be required to bring the instruments and personal equipment necessary for their position.
The equipment requirements for each confirmed call will be communicated in advance.

What This Opportunity Involves
This opportunity is intended for musicians who genuinely want to become part of a consistent, long-term live band not to assemble a different group of session musicians for every performance. The objective is to build a stable core line-up whose members learn the repertoire and develop a recognisable live sound.
Selected musicians will be expected to:
- learn and retain the agreed repertoire;
- prepare independently before rehearsals and studio sessions;
- attend confirmed rehearsals, studio calls, performances and related activities reliably;
- develop a consistent sound with the same group of musicians;
- follow the supplied recordings and authorised arrangements;
- prepare the appropriate tones, effects, patches and sound banks for their role;
- communicate professionally and respond within agreed timeframes;
- maintain reasonable availability for rehearsals and live bookings;
- remain committed after accepting a confirmed date;
- contribute positively to the gradual development of the project.
Paid Work and Revenue Participation
All confirmed training sessions, rehearsals, studio sessions, live performances and event-related calls will be paid under written terms agreed in advance. Before accepting any paid engagement, each musician will receive written confirmation of:
- the fixed gross fee;
- the required call time and duration;
- the payment date;
- invoicing requirements;
- any approved travel or other expenses;
- cancellation terms;
- any applicable share of eligible live-event revenue.
Live performances will include an agreed performer share of eligible event revenue in addition to the confirmed fixed payment.
As the line-up becomes established, audiences grow and the number and value of live engagements increase, fees and performer revenue shares will be reviewed.
* Additional Income and Creative Contributions
The musicians forming the core line-up will become an important part of the public identity, presence and development of the I/US Music® live project.
Written agreements will clearly define and protect each musician’s position, responsibilities, fees and applicable income participation.
Where relevant, members may also receive an agreed share of eligible event-related income, including applicable merchandise revenue.
Any contribution beyond the musician’s normal performance responsibilities will be discussed and agreed separately. This may include:
- songwriting or co-writing;
- transcription;
- arrangement work;
- additional studio preparation;
- musical direction or production support;
- backstage or technical responsibilities;
- additional live-performance duties.
Where such work is requested and approved, the contributor will be fairly compensated for their time and contribution. Songwriting and other intellectual-property contributions will be documented separately where necessary.
Musician Journey:
Stage 1: Application
You review the project information, listen to the I/US Music® material and submit the application form.
Your application should include an accurate professional summary and suitable examples of your existing live-performance work.
Stage 2: Initial Review
Your experience, musical suitability, performance standard, reliability and availability are reviewed.
Applicants whose background appears suitable will be shortlisted.
Stage 3: Introductory Meeting
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to an online or in-person meeting.
The meeting provides an opportunity to discuss:
- the musical direction of the project;
- the expectations attached to the role;
- your experience and availability;
- rehearsals and performance plans;
- equipment requirements;
- payment arrangements;
- performer revenue participation;
- the proposed working relationship.
You will be able to ask questions before deciding whether to continue.
Stage 4: Audition Package
Suitable applicants receive an audition package containing:
- an assigned section of music to prepare;
- authorised reference recordings or materials;
- relevant arrangement instructions;
- technical or equipment guidance;
- the proposed performer agreement.
You prepare the material independently before attending the audition or assessment session.
Stage 5: Audition or Assessment Session
You perform the assigned material and may also work through it with the founder or other shortlisted musicians. The assessment considers:
- preparation;
- accuracy;
- musical interpretation;
- tone and sound choices;
- stage presence;
- communication;
- professionalism;
- ability to follow direction;
- suitability for a stable team.
Stage 6: Initial Rehearsal Period
Successful musicians begin learning and rehearsing the wider repertoire.
During this period, the musicians develop:
- musical chemistry;
- consistent arrangements;
- transitions between songs;
- tones, patches and effects;
- stage communication;
- technical requirements;
- the overall identity of the live show.
Confirmed rehearsals, training sessions and studio calls are paid according to the agreed written terms.
Stage 7: Confirmation of the Core Line-Up
Where the working relationship is successful, the musician may be invited to join the stable core live line-up.
The agreement will clearly identify the musician’s role, responsibilities, fees, payment arrangements, cancellation terms and applicable revenue participation.
Stage 8: First Live Performances
The core line-up performs its first shows, showcases or events.
For each confirmed performance, the musician receives:
- the agreed fixed performance fee;
- any approved expenses;
- an agreed share of eligible event revenue;
- any other applicable income confirmed in writing.
Stage 9: Growth and Review
As the project develops, the performance history, audience, commercial opportunities and value of bookings are reviewed.
Fees and performer shares may increase as the live show becomes established;
- the audience grows;
- more valuable engagements are secured;
- merchandise and related event income develop;
- members take on additional agreed responsibilities.
My goal is to create a reliable live team whose members will benefit fairly from the project’s growth.
To apply, applications should be submitted by 31 July 2026.
The advert may close earlier if enough suitable applicants have been identified.
Complete the application form or contact me directly. Suitable applicants will be invited to a virtual or in-person meeting to discuss the project and proposed terms in greater detail.
